Student Tool App Reviews

** means it is one of our favorite apps and we are using it with our students.
  • Shadow Puppet - Free

I think puppet is going to be a great app for the students to use or that I can use for
instruction. Collect a few photos, and then addyour recording to it. You can zoom in on
photos and click to advance the photoas you are telling the story. The entire thing is
recorded and then can be emailed, posted to Facebook or added to the puppet app.
  • Student Clicker-Socrative - Free

I was so excited about this app, but it didn’t go well thecouple of times we tried to use it. I don’t think I know how to use it very well. I didn’t realize you can just do verbal questions and then have them respond, like it does in PingPong. I thought all the questions had to be entered in ahead of time. I guess that is one reason this app would be better than PingPong because you can ask verbal questions or create a premade quiz. You can also create exit tickets and a space race quiz where rocket ships graph the results. I think it needs to give it a second chance now that I am looking at it again. It also will email you results, which I think would is nice. I tried to use this app to take attendance, but it was too complicated. I guess I gave up after that, when I should have spent more time with it.

There is a teacher clicker that works with the student one. It is also free.
